"Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become."
— Steve Jobs
Have The Courage To Follow Your
Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
About this quote
Jobs spoke these words in his Stanford University commencement address on June 12, 2005, in the section he devoted to "Love and Loss." He was urging graduates to trust their deepest instincts about career and life direction, drawing on his own experience of dropping out of Reed College and then following his genuine curiosity rather than a prescribed path. The speech was delivered about eighteen months after his pancreatic cancer diagnosis, and the theme of trusting one's inner compass carried a particular urgency for Jobs himself at that moment.
