"Stay hungry, stay foolish."
— Steve Jobs
Stay Hungry Stay Foolish
Stay hungry, stay foolish.
About this quote
Jobs closed his commencement address at Stanford University on June 12, 2005 with these words — but he did not coin them. He borrowed the phrase from the back cover of the final edition of Stewart Brand's countercultural publication The Whole Earth Catalog (1974), which he described to the graduates as "one of the bibles of my generation." Brand's farewell message had inspired Jobs as a young man in the mid-1970s, and he passed it on as his own parting wish for the Class of 2005. The speech was written primarily by Jobs himself, in close collaboration with his wife Laurene Powell Jobs.
