Wonder Is The Beginning Of Wisdom

This paraphrases a passage in Plato's Theaetetus (155d), where Socrates tells the young mathematician Theaetetus that "wonder is the feeling of a philosopher, and philosophy begins in wonder." Aristotle later echoed the idea in Metaphysics (982b), writing that it was through wonder that people first began to philosophize.
