"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing."
— Socrates
The Only True Wisdom Is In
The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.
About this quote
A popular paraphrase of the account in Plato's Apology (21d–23b), where Socrates describes the oracle at Delphi's pronouncement that no one was wiser than he. After questioning politicians, poets, and craftsmen, Socrates concluded he was wiser only because he did not claim to know what he did not — a form of intellectual humility his interlocutors lacked.
