"Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise."
— Benjamin Franklin
Early To Bed And Early To
Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.
About this quote
This proverb appeared in Poor Richard's Almanack for 1735, near the beginning of Franklin's 26-year run of annual publications. Franklin promoted early rising throughout his life and incorporated it into the structured daily schedule he famously recorded in his autobiography. The saying predates Franklin in various forms — similar advice appears in earlier English literature — but his almanack gave it the wide currency it retains today.
