"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it."
— Muhammad Ali
Impossible Is Just A Big Word
Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it.
About this quote
Despite being universally attributed to Muhammad Ali, this passage was actually written by Aimee Lehto, a copywriter at the advertising agency TBWA, for Adidas's 2004 "Impossible is Nothing" global campaign — which featured Ali and his daughter Laila Ali prominently. The tagline "Impossible is nothing" was coined by the campaign's global creative director Boyd Coyner. Because Ali's image was the centerpiece of the $50 million campaign, the advertising copy became permanently misattributed to him.
