"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life."
— Steve Jobs
Your Time Is Limited So Dont
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.
About this quote
Jobs delivered this line in his Stanford University commencement address on June 12, 2005, in the section on "Love and Loss." He was speaking from personal experience: fired from Apple in 1985 at age 30, he had spent the following decade building NeXT and Pixar rather than chasing the life others expected of him. The speech was also delivered just over a year after Jobs had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, a fact he disclosed publicly for the first time that day, giving the urgency in these words a very direct personal weight.
