"Most men and women will grow up to love their servitude and will never dream of revolution."

— Aldous Huxley

Most Men And Women Will Grow

Most men and women will grow up to love their servitude and will never dream of revolution.

— Aldous Huxley

About this quote

This observation comes from Brave New World (1932), in which Huxley envisioned a society that maintains control not through violence but through manufactured happiness. The remark anticipates Huxley's own later commentary in Brave New World Revisited (1958), where he argued that this voluntary servitude — bred through conditioning and hedonism — was a more insidious threat to freedom than George Orwell's vision of overt coercion in Nineteen Eighty-Four.
