"Follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be."
— Joseph Campbell
Follow Your Bliss And Dont Be
Follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be.
About this quote
From the sixth episode of the PBS documentary series Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth (1988), filmed at George Lucas's Skywalker Ranch and the American Museum of Natural History in the final two summers of Campbell's life before his death in 1987. Campbell derived the concept from the Sanskrit Upanishadic triad sat-chit-ananda (being, consciousness, bliss/rapture): unable to be certain he had achieved "being" or "full consciousness," he resolved to follow rapture as the surest path to both. The full line continues: "and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be."
